| Artemisia Active Language Holidays - booking details available shortly - keep checking back. |
At Artemisia, we believe that the best way to truly learn a language is to mingle as thoroughly as possible with the locals and their culture. Only by being right there in the heart of it all in Italy and using all your senses can you truly come to understand Italian and the Italians. This is something you won’t get from language books or cds, nor even the best dvds and videos.
Place yourself in an Italian town, listening to the sounds of vespas buzzing past and smelling the aromas of freshly brewed coffee and olive wood smoke from a pizza oven as you practise your newly acquired or recently revived Italian language skills. |
|
All of this is offered by Artemisia Active Language Holidays.
Cultural and activity programmes are integral to the experience of language learning for our clients.
For some, the ability to take part in cooking lessons or wine tasting is a major aim, understanding the experience all the better with the additional input of a few hours of classroom or conversational study each week.
For others, the cultural and recreational activities are a welcome complement to the principal aim of improving on language skills. |
You can’t help but overhear snatches of conversations between waiters. Someone at the next table is reading the pink Gazetta dello Sport newspaper and you find the headlines actually mean something to you.
|
|
And that song that you hear on the radio every day can be heard over the frothing of the cappuccino machine on the marble counter. Suddenly the point of one of your lessons falls into place. Aha! That’s how they use the subjunctive …”if you were here”, he sings, and it all makes sense.
The subjunctive may not, of course, be your main aim in life. Beginners’ conversational Italian or Advanced level technical language skills may be what you need. An intensive course that prepares you for work or academic life in Italy may be what you are after.
